  • Impact Sourcing: Leveraging the Power of Procurement to Advance Economic Inclusion in Global Supply Chains

    Hosted by Jessica Custer, BSR

Impact Sourcing is a business practice where a company prioritizes suppliers that intentionally hire and provide career development opportunities to those who have been long-term unemployed or living in poverty. We think of it as a double-click on supplier diversity, going a step deeper than diversity of ownership to catalyze and incentivize creation of inclusive employment opportunities for the broader workforce in global supply chains.

This workshop will introduce the concept and practices of Impact Sourcing, along-side a suite of tools and resources that client and supplier companies can use to develop, advance, and partner on their inclusive employment and Impact Sourcing strategies. These will include the Impact Sourcing Standard, a Self-Assessment Tool, the Reducing Poverty Through Employment Toolkit, a Buyer’s Guide to Impact Sourcing, and a Social Impact Measurement Framework for Impact Sourcing.

Procurement professionals looking to build on their commitments to supplier diversity and equity and inclusion in their global supply chains are well-placed to participate. The workshop will be structured to offer practical guidance and advice – those new to Impact Sourcing as well as those who have already started their Impact Sourcing journeys are welcome to join.
